Knowing the ins and outs of every mud scenario and what to expect is key. Those expectations entertain different fluid ratio’s that begin with straight fresh water and can formulate into a 2000 kg/m3 weighted system with full barite recovery expected to produce an average 2.5:1 ratio High Gravity Solids (HGS) to Low gravity Solids (LGS),….and then move over ten meters and drill an 8000m measured depth wellbore and run an entirely different engineered series of events. Being able to deal with it all in the most efficient way is when mud rheology pays off.
